David Njoku has become an important element of Cleveland's passing attack in his first year as the lone TE. He was averaging 7.2 targets, 6.0 receptions, and a remarkable 75.8 yards per game over a 4-week stretch before he injured his ankle. He has given quarterback Jacoby Brissett another dynamic playmaker to use in addition to star wide receiver Amari Cooper thanks to his ability to accumulate yards after the catch.
Week 7's devastating ankle injury to rising tight end David Njoku was a major setback for the Cleveland Browns. Although he had been initially advised 2 to 5 weeks to recover from the sprain, the sixth-year pro claimed he would return far sooner.
When asked whether he might play on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, the TE responded, "That's the plan," to reporters on Monday. He's not in the clear yet, but the fact that David is confident is a great sign for both him and the Browns.
